Its better in the water!

Candidate for Texas House District 15

One of the candidates (Steve Toth) for the Texas House of Representatives is from the swimming pool industry. I was initially excited about the possibility of having someone from the pool industry in the Texas legislature, not now.   After reading Mr. Toth's views on licensing in Pool and Spa News (http://www.poolspanews.com/2012/072/072n_toth.html) and his comments (also about licensing) on his election facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Steve-Toth-for-House-District-15/2805...) he is uniformed.

Mr. Toth believes the law that licensed swimming pool technicians in Texas as Residential Appliance Installers is what made it illegal to do electrical work on swimming pools without a license. The fact is, it gave us a way to legally do the work. If it were not for the law, only licensed electricians would be allowed to install a pump, motor, light, etc.

I encourage those that worked so hard to make it legal for swimming pool technician in Texas to perform electrical maintenance to leave Mr. Toth a comment on his election facebook page.

Thanks Noel for your insight. It is a shame when even people within the industry don't understand- then another candidate claims to be here to solve our problems...it is no wonder that the system is messed up when the candidates won't even educate themselves on issues that are supposed to be important to them.
